Detune Launcher — Privacy Policy

Detune Launcher (“Detune”, “the app”) is an Android home‑screen launcher. This policy explains what the app accesses, why, and what does or doesn’t leave your phone. In short: Detune keeps your data on your device. It has no user accounts, shows no ads, and does not track you or sell any data.

The short version

Everything the app reads to show information on your home screen stays on your phone.
The only data that ever leaves your device is what you choose to send: an anonymous feedback/bug post, or saving a community theme. Both use a random, anonymous ID — never your name, email, or account.
No advertising, no analytics/tracking SDKs, no selling or sharing of personal data.

Permissions, and why the app asks for them

All of these are optional and power specific home‑screen widgets. If you don’t enable a widget, the app doesn’t ask for, or use, the matching permission. The data read is displayed on your home screen only and is never transmitted.

Usage access

Used by the optional screen‑time widget to show how long your phone has been used today. Read on‑device; not sent anywhere.

Notification access

Used by the optional now‑playing / music controls widgets to show and control the media currently playing. Media info is read on‑device; not sent anywhere.

Calendar

Used by the optional next‑event widget to show your next upcoming event. Read on‑device; not sent anywhere.

Physical activity & Health Connect (steps, distance, calories)

Used by the optional steps, distance, and calories widgets. Read from the device sensor or Health Connect on‑device; not sent anywhere.

Data that leaves your device (only when you choose)

Detune has an optional community feature: a feedback / bug‑report board and a shared theme gallery. Data is only sent when you actively submit a post, vote, report, or save a theme. It is tied to a random anonymous install ID (a UUID generated on your device) so votes and your own posts can be recognised — it is not linked to your identity, and you are never asked to sign in.

Feedback & bug reports: the title and description you type, plus the anonymous install ID. If you file a bug, the app also attaches your app version, phone model, and Android version so the problem can be reproduced. Nothing else about you is attached.
Theme saves / reports: the anonymous install ID and the theme’s identifier, so save counts stay accurate and duplicates are avoided.

These submissions are handled through Google (Google Forms / Apps Script), whose processing is governed by Google’s own privacy terms. No advertising or cross‑app tracking identifiers are used.

Data we do not collect

No name, email address, phone number, or account.
No location, contacts, photos, messages, or files.
No advertising ID, and no third‑party analytics or ad SDKs.

Children

Detune is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.

Data retention & your choices

On‑device data lives only in the app and is removed when you clear the app’s data or uninstall it. Anonymous feedback and theme submissions you chose to send remain on the community board; to have a submission removed, contact us at the address below.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the “last updated” date above will change. Material changes will be reflected in the app’s release notes.
